AGM 2024
Over 50 people attended the AGM where the excellent Laura Laker did
a Q&A session on her book about the National Cycle Network, 'Potholes
and Pavements'. She gave an insight to the national scene
accompanied by pictures of the good and the not so good. Members of
the committee met Laura in the afternoon and had a pre meeting meal.
This enabled us to glean further information and to discuss ways to try
and ensure we make the most of any opportunities that arise.
As the evening progressed there was information from the Isle Access
Cycle Coordinator, Steve Wells, who is looking for volunteers to assist in
the delivery of their programme for providing cycling for people with
additional needs. Matthew Whittaker spoke about the cargo bike
company Keert. They have continued to expand though still need to
have better coverage in the Bay Area. Tim Thorne, Chair of the group
gave an update of the work the group has done over the year. Elections were held for officers of the group. Tim Thorne,
Chair. Alec Lawson, Secretary, Jess Garbutt, Treasurer.
Those attending included Richard Quigley MP, Phil Jordan, Cabinet
Lead on Roads and Infrastructure and Graham Biss, High Sheriff.
As ever there was an excellent raffle. Thanks to all who provided prizes.
Finally a big thanks to the team at the Minster for providing a great
venue.
